Santa Barbara, CA and Broadview, IL. – Bosch Diagnostics (formerly Vetronix) is pleased to announce a revolutionary new wireless platform with capabilities to support the vehicle communication networks of the future: the Mastertech VCI.
The Bosch Mastertech VCI (Vehicle Communications Interface) is built specifically to support the new and emerging MVCI vehicle software designs utilizing the D-PDU API. These networks will be introduced over the next few model years in certain OEM global vehicle platforms. This new approach to vehicle communications utilizes multi-tasking protocols, allowing technicians to interface more than one vehicle system at a time, increasing diagnostic efficiency and productivity.
In addition to future network connectivity, the Mastertech VCI performs conventional scan tool functionality on a diverse list of Domestic and Asian vehicles, supporting both OBD I and OBD II protocols. The Mastertech VCI utilizes the Bosch Shop Foreman Pro Windows-based software application, and communicates via Ethernet, USB or wireless connection. Supported platforms include desktop PC, laptop or an optional shop-rugged Tablet PC.
The Mastertech VCI honors the name of its award-winning predecessor, the MTS 3100 Mastertech Multi- Function tester, but is an entirely new vehicle communications interface. Continuing the legacy of that revolutionary tool, the Mastertech VCI is the worthy successor allowing the technician to access OE-level scan data, service information, shop management, parts and internet-based knowledge databases all in one portable package. The result is maximum technician productivity now and in the future.
The serial data scan tool was invented by Vetronix with the Tech 1, and now Bosch introduces the Vehicle Communications Interface of the future: the Mastertech VCI.
