LAS VEGAS, NV, November 4, 2008 – Bosch Diagnostics is pleased to announce the introduction of the ACS 615 Air Conditioning Refrigerant Handling System. This fully automatic machine is efficient and accurate, and fully compliant with the SAE J2788 standard.
Today, shops face many challenges when it comes to air conditioning service. From stringent regulations to newer vehicle A/C systems that are smaller and have tighter tolerances, air conditioning service is not as easy as it used to be.
The ACS 615 automatically recovers 95% of the refrigerant within 30 minutes, recycles it and then evacuates the vehicle’s A/C system. After automatically testing for leaks, the ACS 615 proceeds to recharge the system with R134a to an accuracy of +/- 0.5 oz. If equipped with the optional vehicle refrigerant capacity database, the ACS 615 automatically takes the guesswork out of the correct amount of refrigerant and oil charge capacities for 1994 and newer vehicle models – saving time and money, while preventing “comebacks” due to inaccurate charge amounts.
What truly sets the new Bosch ACS 615 apart from the competition is the optional wireless technician notification system. This patent-pending device boosts productivity by allowing the technician to program the unit to automatically perform the A/C service operation, and then walk away to perform work on another vehicle. The base unit on the machine will update the status of the process to the technician via a remote device, and notifies the technician when the job is complete, thus increasing shop’s efficiency and productivity.
One of the other revolutionary features of the Bosch ACS 615 is the revolving turret control panel. Competitive machines have to be wrestled into place by the technician in order to see the control panel and program or view the service operation. With the ACS 615, the tech can simply roll the machine close to the vehicle, and then rotate the turret up to 90 degrees left or right for a clear view of the control panel for programming or status-check. The revolving control panel houses the large (4” diameter) high and low pressure gauges, a large easy-to-read 4 x 20 LCD display, and intuitive keypad. All of these features, combined with the easy-to-use program menus make the Bosch ACS 615 one of the most technician-friendly A/C service machines on the market.
Other features such as the ergonomic handle and ultra-low rolling resistance rear tires make the Bosch ACS 615 easy to move around in a shop environment. Filter changes are quick and easy, and the oil recovery and oil charge bottles are mounted externally for easy access.
With innovative features such as the optional vehicle database, wireless technician notification system, revolving control panel, plus the quality, rugged construction, the Bosch ACS 615 is the most advanced, efficient, and user-friendly air conditioning machine on the market today.
