Bosch Diagnostics Introduces the Flasher LT for Affordable Vehicle Reprogramming

The need for affordable reprogramming exists and is growing. Original equipment manufacturers introduced reprogrammable ECU’s on vehicles in the mid 1990’s. It is estimated that 60+ % of domestic vehicles from 1996 to present have updated calibrations, affecting more than 64 million vehicles in the United States alone. The newer calibrations can address drivability concerns, false DTCs and vehicle ECU network operations. In addition, control module replacement requires initialization programming. Independent aftermarket shops compete daily for this business with OE dealerships. Bosch Diagnostics offers a cost-effective alternative for shops who want OEM re-programming capability without the expense of the factory scan tool.
It couldn’t be simpler. The Flasher LT is sold as a stand-alone, pass-through device that connects the vehicle J1962 16-pin OBDII connector to the Windows PC USB port. The OEM calibrations are downloaded directly from their respective web applications, through the Flasher LT, into the vehicle ECU. It’s fast. The Flasher LT data transfer rate, via USB 2.0 interface, is the fastest in the industry—faster than any other tool, OE or aftermarket!
Flasher LT currently supports protocols for General Motors, Ford and Import brands, and will add Chrysler coverage later in the year.
