OTC celebrates 100-year anniversary with five new tools, equipment to support complex repairs

Oak Brook, Ill. – Since 1925, OTC has been inventing, innovating and manufacturing automotive specialty tools and equipment. To mark the celebration of its 100th anniversary, OTC is releasing five new tools and pieces of equipment for use in automotive, medium- and heavy-duty service. Each OTC product is tested and trusted by automotive technicians to ensure durability, safety and quality when repairing and servicing vehicles. 

OTC’s latest additions include: 

7101 4,000-lb capacity lifting brackets: Brackets feature two tabs for a variety of engines and powertrains. The tabs can be used with a 3/8” or ½” bolt. The brackets meet the ASME B30.26 standard for rigging hardware, giving technicians more options to securely lift heavy components and powertrains.

7102 8,000-lb capacity lifting brackets: The heavy-duty capacity lifts up to 4 tons for use in heavy-duty applications to securely lift and support components. Brackets can be mounted with up to a 1” bolt, with a capacity of 8,000 lbs per bracket. Brackets bolt directly into engine load levelers, cranes, safety chains or the Load-Rotor® to lift heavy components safely and securely.

6637-5 strut tamer safety cage: The safety cage attaches directly to the 6637-ST (strut tamer with stand), or behind the 6337 (strut tamer) when wall-mounted to add an extra layer of protection when rebuilding shock-strut assemblies. The cage is constructed of 1” structural steel tubing and expanded carbon steel mesh to minimize energy impact of a broken or decompressing coil spring. The 6637-5 is designed specifically for use with the OTC 6637 strut tamer.

7339 caliper wind-back tool set: The air power tool provides optimal pressure to fully compress the caliper piston quickly and seamlessly. Its integrated swivel handle provides left or right wind-back capability for compressing calipers with integral parking brakes. Its durable chrome alloy steel single piston shaft includes a base with magnetic pins to securely hold adapters during use. The set includes 15 different adapters to cover most vehicle makes and models. 

1797 heavy-duty clutch adapter: This special transmission jack adapter handles heavy-duty clutch assemblies during service. Its mounting slots in the base offer a universal fit on most high and low-lift transmission jacks. The built-in splined adapter mount rotates easily to help align to the clutch spline and align the clutch to the flywheel. It includes a safety strap to clutch securely when maneuvering and is meant for use with 10- and 14-splined adapters (not included).
